The current Hawaii state chess co-champion, Damian Nash, will play up to 50 people at the same time. Come to the library at 4:00 pm for a short lesson on chess openings. The “simultaneous exhibition” begins at 4:30pm. Your game will end between 5pm and 7pm depending on the number of players and your skill. All ages and skill levels welcome. Children under 16 should be accompanied by an adult.
After giving a mini chess lesson on opening moves, Mr. Nash will play up to 50 people at the same time. It is fun for parents and students who can sit next to each other and suggest moves for each other’s games. Come down to the library and challenge the Hawaii State Co-champion. If you win or draw with Mr. Nash you get to keep the official tournament chess set ($20 value).
Program schedule is subject to change. Contact the library 15 days in advance to request a sign language interpreter or if special accommodations are needed.
