Film and/or take photographs at the library

FILM AND/OR  TAKE PHOTOGRAPHS AT THE LIBRARY

We invite patrons and visitors to snap impromptu photos in the Library, be they of a favorite book, some fun architectural feature in our buildings or one of our many public art pieces. While we appreciate you tagging us in social media posts, please remember: our first mission is that of a library. To maintain a proper environment, we ask you to be respectful of the community.

Film permits are required

  • Film permits and insurance are required for all filming activity, commercial, educational or non-profit projects which take place within the State’s jurisdiction, which includes all public libraries.

Film permits are not required

  • Film permits are not required for photography or video that is only for personal use.
  • Professional, commercial, or group photography with rental of a Library event space such as special events like weddings, engagements, proms, and homecoming is allowed.

Be respectful of fellow patrons and please follow our Library House Rules.

Among other restrictions, we prohibit photos and video of other patrons and staff members and impeding access to any area of the Library. We also bar the use of equipment beyond cameras, phones, and video recorders (e.g., tripods, lights and reflective shields) unless approved.

Please contact the branch manager of the library regarding the application for filming.
