The Kauai “Live Poets’ Society” is a gathering of poets and poetry lovers to improve their poetry writing and reading. To enjoy poetry together. The group meets monthly at Lihue Library under the guidance of Kauai poet and author Dawn Kawahara and in partnership with Lihue Library. Please come and join us!
For the meeting bring a poem in progress following the prompt: “Describe a place (details, associations); move into a related memory, past event or oral history; draw upon another aspect of the memory and describe in detail; loop back to the point of origin/beginning”. (Courtesy Nicole Street, LPS December Guest Host) 50 lines maximum.
Please bring to the December meeting 10-12 copies of your poem to share and writing materials.
