Dr. Ashok Kannan is a Kauaʻi Doctor of Osteopathic medicine as well as having a specialization from the University of Hawaii in geriatric medicine. He specializes in neurocognitive disorders.
Dr. Kannan, aka “Ash”, will explore the often misunderstood subject of dementia vs Alzheimer’s as well as explain some of the differences between dementia types and will review the diagnosis process.

This series is partially funded by the OAA National Family Caregiver Support Program and will bring local professionals together to educate the community on dementia related issues to help in the diagnosis of, and treatment and care for, individuals with dementia.
This program is part of the “ Listen and Learn lecture series on Alzheimer’s, a monthly educational series featuring a dementia-related topic sponsored by the Alzheimer’s Association – Hawai’i Chapter and the Lihue Public Library, in conjunction with the Kauai Agency on Elderly Affairs.
