Blackout Poetry with Pam Woolway

April 16, 2018 @ 3:30 pm - 4:30 pm

Woman at a typewriter

April is National Poetry Month!

Come celebrate the joy and power of language with Kauai’s Short Order Poet Pam Woolway. Pam will be talking about what she does as a short order poet and what she has learned through the practice of improvisational typewriter poetry.  Pam will be teaching a poetry-writing technique called Blackout Poetry. Using the pages of old books, blackout poets piece together single words and phrases to create poems that can be playful, lyrical or profound.

Program schedule is subject to change. Contact the library 15 days in advance to request a sign language interpreter or if special accommodations are needed.
