An event every week that begins at 2:45 pm on Tuesday and Thursday, repeating until October 5, 2017
YWCA is teaming up with Lihue Library to bring you an after school program designed to increase students’ self-esteem and their ability to work with their classmates to reach common goals. Students will participate in activities that facilitate a team-building environment and will teach the tools they need to work cooperatively in diverse groups. Achievement of these leadership skills will be enable students to effectively reduce incidents of bullying and discrimination within the classroom. S.T.E.M. projects are incorporated into the program as a fun way to put some of their leadership skills to practical use and spark interest in S.T.E.M. careers.
The After School Leadership Program is free and healthy snacks will be provided. For grades 2 and up.
Program schedule is subject to change. Contact the library 15 days in advance to request a sign language interpreter or if special accommodations are needed.
