Maui resident, Heather Salmon will lecture on the African Diaspora and the lives of her late father, Dr. John Douglas Salmon, and Uncle David V. J. Bell, PhD. This 75-minute lecture and video presentation will profile these two Black men whose lives and acts of human courage impacted a generation, how they broke through the issues of oppression that barred their way, and their rise to the top of their career fields. Both also lost their parents when they were children. Dr. Salmon was Canada’s first black surgeon, and Mr. Bell was a Dean, author and leader in the sustainability movement.
Heather Salmon is a renowned sound healer, ordained priestess, cultural creative innovator and recording artist.
