Talk Story with Russell Cahill

Russell Cahill is the author of Kolea: A Story of Hawai’i and Beyond and Tales from the Parks: My Adventures as a Park Ranger. Russell was the first national park ranger of Hawai’ian ancestry. His father, William was born in Hilo in 1915 and his youngest son Matthew, a National Park employee is a former teacher at Hilo High School. Russell served as a Park Ranger in Yosemite Glacier Bay, Katmai and Haleakala National Parks during the 1960s and 70s.

This program is free and suitable for all ages. Please contact the library 15 days in advance to request a sign language interpreter or if other special accommodation is needed.
