Gregory McCartney will present a fascinating lecture on the Sun and our Solar System.
Gregory McCartney holds a master’s and a bachelor’s degree with studies in planetary atmospheres, atmospheric science, meteorology and astronomy.
He is an astronaut candidate applicant and continues to educate himself on the latest understandings and theories of the universe, spanning a broad spectrum of topics ranging from astrophysics to planetary astronomy.
Greg is a council member for the Friends of the Institute for Astronomy at the University of Hawaii and a member of the Hawaiian Astronomical Society. He is also a former Adjunct Professor with Hawaii Pacific University and Teaching Assistant with the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
His 20-year professional career has been in the environmental professional field, protecting this planet’s air, water and land throughout the Hawaiian islands.
