Astronomer Dr. Elena Manjavacas will talk about the search for planets outside our solar system. Dr. Manjavacas received her Ph.D. in Astronomy from the Max Planck Institute for Astronomy in Heidelberg, Germany in 2015. She has conducted research on brown dwarf stars and exoplanets and is now a Support Astronomer at W.M. Keck Observatory. Dr. Manjavacas will summarize the latest findings on the great diversity of exoplanets around other stars in our own galaxy, the Milky Way. She will also discuss what the search for exoplanets might find in the future. This free lecture is made available through a generous grant from the Friends of the Libraries, Kona.
