Falls are the leading cause of injury among older Americans. Each year, one in four Americans age 65+ will fall.
Many falls are preventable. And in addition to taking steps to reduce your chances of falling, you can also learn to fall safely. In Safe Falling for Seniors, volunteers from Kupuna Aikido will explain the basics of fall prevention and techniques you can use to fall safely, decreasing the severity of injury from falls.
Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service for effective communication, or a modification of policies or procedures to participate in a program, service, or activity should contact library staff as soon as possible. Advance requests 48 hours or more before the event are encouraged, but not required. All programs are subject to change.
