S.M.A.R.T. is a one-hour arts & crafts workshop that features repurposing recyclables into functional and decorative items. This evening we feature Pochibukuro: a creative reuse activity presented by Evelyn Nakamura. Japanese children frequently receive monetary gifts in little envelopes called “pochibukuro”. The New Year’s pochibukuro is called “otoshidama”. Learn to make 3 different simple envelopes from found materials, then size them up for other purposes. Examples of varied uses for these envelopes and other ways of creating them will be shared. All supplies provided for 6 envelopes. Please bring your own small, sharp, pointed, thin blade scissors. Program size is limited. Sign up by calling the library at 832-3466 or stopping by the Information Desk starting on August 1.
Program schedule is subject to change. If you require an auxiliary aid or accommodation due to a disability, please call the library at least 7 days before the program date.
