Each Wednesday during Summer Reading Program we will be featuring a musical or movie about music. Movies geared towards children will be shown at a matinee time of 1pm. Movies geared towards adults will be shown in the evening, at 5:30pm.

Join us this week for the 2007 movie musical, Hairspray.

This fun, musical romantic comedy has a stand up cast including John Travolta, Michelle Pfeiffer, Christopher Walken, Amanda Bynes, and more. Travel to the 1960s with Tracy Turnblad (Nikki Blonsky), a singing, dancing sensation who becomes an instant celebrity after she wins a spot on the “Corny Collins Show.” This film also deals with the ever-present racial inequality in the 1960s.

This film is rated PG. Popcorn will be served and beverages in closed containers are allowed.
