Practice your reading skills by reading aloud to a registered therapy dog! The Hawaiʻi State Library will have a dog from K9 Therapets on June 29th from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm in the Edna Allyn Room for Children. A sign-up sheet for 10-15 minute sessions with the dog will be available at the Children’s Help Desk on the day of the program. Walk-ins welcome as space permits.
(Bonus: The time spent reading also counts toward your summer reading minutes!) Open to children of all ages; children under 5 must be accompanied by an adult. Call 808-586-3510 for more information.
Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service for effective communication, or a modification of policies or procedures to participate in a program, service or activity should contact library staff as soon as possible. Advance requests 48 hours or more before the event are encouraged, but not required.
