In honor of Women’s History Month, this March we invite Hau’ula residents Sylvia Craig-Kapu and Desirree Madison-Biggs to share their experiences working to protect Kokololio Beach Park with their fellow neighbors. Using the legislative process to make positive changes in their community, these women are a great example of civic engagement. Come learn more about their journey and about Kokololio Beach Park, located near the Hau’ula Shopping Center.
Community engagement in a variety of ways has always been important to both women but getting bill 48 passed is their first experience in public policy-making.
