Celebrate Summer Reading! Our summer theme is E Heluhelu Kākou; Moʻolelo, and Hawaii’s public libraries will be celebrating the rich and varied stories that shape our communities.
Join Tūtū Nyla and Papa Jeff for some participatory tales and tunes from here and afar. This 45-minute program is suitable for preschoolers to Grade 3 and their families.
Tūtū Nyla Fujii-Babb has been a storyteller, actress, voice-over talent, and producer for over 30 years. She is considered to be one of the Kūpuna in Hawai‘i’s storytelling circle and has taught storytelling and shared stories with all ages from native Hawaiian elders to preschoolers statewide.
Sponsored by the Friends of Waimea Public Library. This is a production of the University of Hawaii at Manoa Outreach College’s Statewide Cultural Extension Program with additional funding provided by the National Endowment for the Arts, Hawaii State Foundation on Culture and the Arts, and the University of Hawaii.
Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service for effective communication, or a modification of policies or procedures to participate in a program, service, or activity should contact library staff as soon as possible. Advance requests 48 hours or more before the event are encouraged, but not required. Program schedule is subject to change.
