Movie Night: October Sky – PROGRAM CANCELLED

August 22, 2018 @ 4:00 pm - 5:50 pm

October sky movie

Posted: August 21, 2018 – 5:00 p.m.

In advance of potential impacts from Hurricane Lane, this program has been cancelled. We encourage everyone to be safe. Mahalo!

Back to school is here, and so are the back to school movies!

Homer (Jake Gyllenhaal) falls in love with rocketry after he sees Sputnik 1 cross the sky in his home of West Virginia. While his coal-miner father disapproves of his new interest, Homer builds rockets with the support of his teacher (Laura Dern). Based on a true story, enjoy this movie with us to celebrate science and going back to school!

This film is rated PG and is proudly supported by Friends of the Libraries, Kona. There will be free, freshly popped popcorn during the film and beverages in closed containers are permitted.

All programs are subject to change. If you require an auxiliary aid or accommodation due to a disability, please contact the library at least 7 days before the program date.
