Back for the 3rd year is Wahiawa Public Library’s Monster Mash Costume Party, now with a Haunted Library Story Tour! Come spend the evening in our meeting room listening to your favorite Halloween tunes, eating some delicious and spooky Halloween treats, and playing Halloween-themed games. It’s fun for the whole family!
Then, once the sun goes down and everyone has arrived, brave keiki and their families will be welcomed into the library for a guided haunted story tour. Learn all about the–maybe true, maybe not true–spooky history of our library with the Youth Services Librarian as your ghostly tour guide. (For parents or guardians: this tour will take place in the dark and may include frightening elements or jump scares that might be too intense for the youngest keiki, so be advised and use discretion. Children who do not attend the Haunted Library Story Tour portion of the evening are welcome to remain in the meeting room where they can continue to enjoy games, activities, and refreshments.)
All children and teens who attend (up to age 17) will receive a small goody bag. Anyone who dresses in costume will receive a free entry into our Hallow-Read Grand Prize Giveaway to be drawn on October 31st.
There is a limit of 70 attendees total to this event. Please call the library at 808-622-6345 to reserve your space ahead of time or click the RSVP on this web page. Unfortunately, due to safety reasons, once we have reached 70 attendees, we will not permit anyone else to enter the event until other guests leave.
Children under the age of 9 must be accompanied by an adult or guardian for both events. Children 9 and older may attend the Haunted Library Story Tour on their own provided they can stay with the crowd and avoid disrupting the tour.
