Lava Pouring into the Sea: What, Where, Why?

Katryn Wiese, Professor of Geology and Oceanography, City College of San Francisco, will discuss a variety of elements of Kilauean eruptions such as sources, patterns, history, hazards, environmental impacts, and current eruption locations.  Katryn Wiese has conducted research on ocean island volcanism in Hawaii, Iceland, and a variety of locations along mid-ocean ridges in the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans.  Her 45 minute presentation will be followed by a 15 minute Q&A.
