This free one-hour presentation will provide information on the historical context of King David Kalākaua’s 1881 world tour, as well as reveal new unpublished information that the presenter obtained from primary sources in Hawai`i, Europe and on the mainland.
Linden Holt Joesting is an attorney with an interest in Hawaiian history. Her family’s four generations of public service began with her great-grandfather, John Dominis Holt Jr., who served the Hawaiian kingdom. Ms. Joesting’s interest in Hawaiian history was encouraged by her father, Edward H. Joesting, who authored several books on Hawaiian history.
