Join us for our bi-monthly book club beginning August 11 where we will discuss Lab Girl by Hope Jahren. Lab Girl was the 2016 winner of the National Book Critics Circle Award for Autobiography. Hope Jahren is an award-winning scientist who has been pursuing independent research in paleobiology since 1996. She was a tenured professor at the University of Hawaii and currently holds a professorship at the University of Oslo, Norway.
Next meeting: October 13: All the Light we Cannot See by Anthony Doerr. Winner of the Pulitzer Prize for fiction in 2015, this is the story of a blind French girl and a German boy whose paths collide in occupied France as both try to survive the devastation of World War II.
Meeting place: Friends of Kaimuki Public Library’s bookstore, The Book Cellar. The shop is located on the ground level of the library.
