June 20, 2024 @ 6:00 pm - 6:45 pm

Slack key guitarist Jeff Peterson

Celebrate Summer Reading! Our summer theme is E Heluhelu Kākou; Moʻolelo, and Hawaii’s public libraries will be celebrating the rich and varied stories that shape our communities.

Join musician Jeff Peterson for a Slack Key Guitar performance with stories of music from the early paniolo years through the Monarchy Era, Hawaii Calls years, Hawaiian Renaissance, to his latest recording “Paniolo Son”.

Recognized as one of Hawai‘i’s most versatile musicians, Jeff Peterson is at the heart of the Hawaiian music scene today. His passion for the guitar has allowed him to shine as a solo artist and has given him the opportunity to collaborate with a wide variety of artists from Hawai‘i, across the US, and abroad.

Sponsored by the Friends of the Library of Hawai‘i. This is a production of the University of Hawaii at Manoa Outreach College’s Statewide Cultural Extension Program with additional funding provided by the National Endowment for the Arts, Hawaii State Foundation on Culture and the Arts, and the University of Hawaii.

Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service for effective communication, or a modification of policies or procedures to participate in a program, service, or activity should contact library staff as soon as possible. Advance requests 48 hours or more before the event are encouraged, but not required. Program schedule is subject to change.
