How Does your Garden Grow series: Growing & Using a Complete Diet in Hawaii

September 10, 2019 @ 4:30 pm - 5:30 pm

A variety of tropical fruits

Wade Bauer will provide an  introductory crash course on how to grow your own food from yard to table.  Efficiently grow, harvest, cook, & store over 50 key plants that easily thrive here in Hawaii. Growing methods are sustainable, organic and permaculture based. We will cover many unique and rare crops, offering even seasoned growers an opportunity to diversify their farms and plates.  Learn plant identification, propagation methods, growing conditions, how to identify immature, mature, and ripe fruit, harvest techniques, preparation, storage options, basics of cooking, and serving suggestions with examples of dishes made with the crops.

Wade Bauer has taught Permaculture for over 14 years, with over 10 years teaching in Hawaii. He has a B.S. in Environmental Biology, is Permaculture Design Certified, and has worked, volunteered, and studied on many organic farms and permaculture sites in Hawaii.
