How Do I Control a Robot with My Mind?

March 9, 2024 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am

Two people looking at a computer. One of the people is wearing a device to control the computer on their head.

Aloha! We are the cognitive psychology research group headed by Professors Scott Sinnett and Jonas Vibell at the Department of Psychology at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. We are passionate about exploring the depths of the human mind and investigating intriguing subjects such as memory, attention, problem-solving, and decision-making. Utilizing cutting-edge technology, including computers, virtual reality, and advanced brain imaging tools, we conduct rigorous experiments to unveil the mysteries of our minds. Join us in this hands-on activity session, where you can engage in exciting activities by controlling a robotic hand with your mind using the brain-computer interface setup!

Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service for effective communication, or a modification of policies or procedures to participate in a program, service, or activity should contact library staff as soon as possible. Advance requests 48 hours or more before the event are encouraged, but not required.
