North Kohala historian, Boyd D. Bond will present a talk story session on  “Food and Agriculture in the Islands”.

Starting with the native environment and examining the canoe plants the first Polynesians brought with them, Bond will describe ancient foods and farming practices, and how that changed with western contact, and how it changed again with large scale commercial agriculture, and then changed once more with regular shipping.

Program schedule is subject to change. Contact the library 15 days in advance if a sign language interpreter or other special accommodation is required.
