For the month of March, the HSL Book Group will discuss The Tattooist of Auschwitz by Heather Morris.
In this 2018 bestselling novel, Slovakian Jew Lale is transported to Auschwitz and put to work as a tattooist, permanently marking his fellow prisoners, including Gita, whom he vows to marry one day. Risking his own life, he uses his position to exchange money from murdered Jews for food to keep other prisoners alive.
The HSL Book Group meets on the third Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the Language, Literature, and History Section. New members are always welcome. No registration necessary.
