Getting to Know Hawaiian Monk Seals

February 8, 2017 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

seal on rocks in ocean

Hawaii Marine Mammal Alliance education volunteers will share information about the plight of the monk seals, which are unique to the state and endangered.  Right now there are only about 1,300 left.  With the main island population increasing interactions between seals and people/dogs/cats are of greater concern.

You and your whole family can help keep seals wild and help pups survive to adulthood.

More information is available @ monkseal.org

Program schedule is subject to change.  Contact the hosting library at least 10 days in advance to request a sign language interpreter or if special accommodations are needed.
