The Community Seed Library (CSL) is hosting a free workshop on Caring for Orchids. The program will be presented by Phoenicia Zeller who is a member of Orchid Growers of Hawai’i and has grown orchids successfully for many years. She knows all the tricks for helping your orchids thrive.
Phoenicia will talk about the different species of orchids to help you choose ones that will grow well in your location, and that will fit easily into your landscape. The workshop will focus on ways to keep your plants healthy so they can resist insects and diseases, and ways to treat problems if they occur. Phoenicia will demonstrate how to care for your orchids so that they will be happy and offer happiness to you. Bring an ailing orchid plant, if you want suggestions for care. Phoenicia will have samples of her own potted orchids to share.
The CSL is generously supported by the Friends of the Libraries, Kona (FOLK). All programs are subject to change. If you require an auxiliary aid or accommodation due to a disability, please contact the library at least 7 days before the program date.
