Ready, Set, Library!

Would you like to see your artwork in books all around town? Then submit your bookmark design in the Kailua-Kona Library’s Bookmark Design Contest! The theme is “Ready, Set, Library,” which showcases how libraries have given you a place to connect, interact with others, learn new skills, and focus on what matters to you. What does your library inspire you to do?

From January 1-31, 2024, submit your design in person or digitally via email to hkacirc@librarieshawaii.org. Designs will be voted on by the community and winners will be announced on February 16th, 2024. Winning designs will be printed and distributed to library patrons. Winners will also receive a $25 gift card to Kona Bay Books.

The Fine Print:

• Designs must be original – your own ideas and imagination. Do not copy other people’s work.
• The theme is , “Ready, Set, Library.” Your design must showcase how libraries have given you a place to connect, interact with others, learn new skills, and focus on what matters most to you.
• Must be standard bookmark size of 2″ x 7″ (or use template provided at library)
• Must enter bookmark into the appropriate age category:
  • Preschool – 3rd Grade
  • 4th-8th Grade
  • 9th-12th Grade
  • Adult

• Bookmark must be scannable or be submitted digitally to hkacirc@librarieshawaii.org
• Must be submitted to Kailua-Kona Public Library staff by January 31, 2024
• Remember to sign your work! Winning designs will be distributed to patrons at Kailua-Kona Public Library throughout the year.
• One design per person may be submitted.
• Voting will occur from February 1-14, 2024.
• Winners will be announced on February 16th, 2024.
• Winning bookmarks will be printed and available to all patrons in March, 2024.
• Submit your design with the following contact sheet so we may notify the winners.

Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service for effective communication, or a modification of policies or procedures to participate in a program, service, or activity should contact library staff as soon as possible. Advance requests 48 hours or more before the event are encouraged, but not required. For a schedule of events, go to librarieshawaii.org/events.
