Come and see some cute kyaraben, or character bentos, and take part in a hands-on demonstration. Learn how to cute up everyday sandwiches with kawaii cheese “drawings” and pressed bread that will bring a smile to anyone.

Crystal Watanabe is the co-author of Yum-Yum Bento Box: Fresh Recipes for Adorable Lunches and the newly released Yum-Yum Bento All Year Round. An independent fiction editor based in Honolulu, Crystal is a wife and mom to three, a lifelong lover of books, and an amateur foodie.

This one-hour program is sponsored by the Friends of the Kaimuki Public Library and is suitable for adults and children ages 12+ with a parent or guardian.  Program will be held in ground floor Meeting Room; schedule is subject to change.
