Advance Healthcare Directives

What would you do if you became unable to make decisions for yourself through illness or incapacitation? If you are not sure or have no idea, this FREE presentation is for you.

Neva Keres, Esq., Community Outreach Coordinator with the University of Hawaii Elder Law Program, will present on advance healthcare directives, which provide directions on the action to be taken with respect to a person’s health if that person becomes unable to make such decisions, and provider orders for life-sustaining treatment (“P.O.L.S.T.”), which complements the advance healthcare directive by specifying medical treatments a person with serious illness or advanced frailty near the end of life would want during a medical emergency.1,2

Free. Recommended for all interested adults, especially seniors and caregivers. Young children must be accompanied by an adult.

Program schedule is subject to change. Contact the library 10 days in advance to request a sign language interpreter or if special accommodations are needed.
