Princeville Public Library
The Princeville Public Library temporarily closed for a major renovation project on October 30, 2023.
A small pop-up location is available in the library’s parking lot to serve North Kauai patrons. The pop-up location’s daily hours will be Tuesday through Saturday, 9 – 11 a.m.; 1- 4 p.m. except on State holidays. Patrons may browse and borrow from a small collection of materials, pick up holds, return borrowed items, and access limited wi-fi service.
At this time, the renovation project is scheduled to be completed by October 2024.

Welcome to the Princeville Public Library! Designed by Kauai-born architect Maurice Yamasato of Yamasato, Fujiwara, Aoki & Associates, our library opened on Apr. 14, 1999. Princeville Corp., in partnership with the State and County, provided land to build the library. We are the 6th public library to open on the Garden Island.
The Princeville Public Library participates in ʻOhana Readers, a literacy program that focuses on reading with family as an affiliate program of Dolly Partonʻs Imagination Library. The program offers high-quality, age-appropriate Imagination Library books each month to children who are under the age of five.
Dolly Partonʻs Imagination Library program is a zip code based mailing program. Families must live in these specific Kauai zip codes to participate.
