“Aloha! My name is Stacey A. Aldrich, and I am honored to be the State Librarian of the Hawaii State Public Library System.
I believe our libraries are powerful spaces that enhance the life of the mind in each of our communities. We support self-sufficiency and the success of each person who walks through the physical or virtual doors. The health of our communities is enhanced when we have strong libraries that provide opportunities for learning 21st Century skills and literacies, connecting people to the world of information and ideas, and creating spaces for community engagement.
Each day we continue to learn, grow and improve the services that we provide to our amazing communities across Hawaii, and I am honored to be a part of building the future with you all.”
Ms. Aldrich holds a Master of Library Science and served as the State Librarian of California and the Deputy Secretary for the Office of Commonwealth Libraries of Pennsylvania.
Ms. Aldrich was selected by the Library Journal as one of the top fifty-five professionals “who are shaping the future of libraries” and was awarded the LINK AMERICAS Foundation Knowledge Award for vision and leadership in the area of digital literacy.
“Stacey brings a wealth of experience in library leadership and community engagement. She is committed to working with our dedicated staff to reposition our libraries to meet the 21st century needs of our individual communities.”
