“Limu-ology” (Phycology)

April 19, 2018 @ 10:30 am - 11:30 pm

Seaweed

April is “Ology” Month at Mt. View!

Learn about Limu!

Over 500 species of seaweeds grow in Hawaii, and they come in many shapes, sizes and colors.

  • Which are edible?
  • Which are in your toothpaste?
  • Which are important for fish and green turtles to eat?

Come look in a microscope to see the details.  Make a seaweed pressing to take home.

UH Hilo students will show you what they have learned in their Marine Plants class.

All programs are subject to change. If you require an auxiliary aid or accommodation due to a disability, please contact the library at least 7 days before the program date.
