Puna Taiko presents a short lecture and demonstration exploring how “Kumi-daiko” (ensemble drumming of Japan) has taken root and continues to thrive on the Big Island. Audience members will also have an opportunity to try their hand at playing the taiko.
Celebrating their 15th year, the extended ‘ohana’ of Puna Taiko has evolved to focus on the young and young-at-heart, and continues to share the “taiko-spirit” across the Big Island.
Program schedule is subject to change. Contact the library 15 days in advance to request a sign language interpreter or special accommodations.
