An albatross walking on grass

Waimea Ocean Film Festival and Thelma Parker present, “Adventures in Storytime: A Perfect Day for an Albatross with Caren Loebel-Fried”.  An award-winning artist and author Caren Loebel-Fried of Volcano, Hawaii has created her latest book, A Perfect Day for an Albatross, in collaboration with Cornell lab of Ornithology following her five-week work experience on Midway Atoll counting albatrosses and assisting with research efforts.  Loebel-Fried also created a “live documentary” about her time on Midway Atoll, which gives viewers a glimpse into the incredible hidden lives of these large seabirds and goes behind-the-scenes of A Perfect Day for an Albatross.

This program is part of the Thelma Parker library’s NASA@My Library initiative to enhance STEM learning opportunities for public audiences nationwide with the excitement of National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) exploration and discovery.

Program schedule is subject to change.  Contact the library 15 days in advance to request a sign language interpreter or if special accommodations are needed.
