For the month of November, the Hawaii State Library Book Group will discuss The Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck.
The HSL Book Group will be finishing off the year with two months in a row of classics, starting with Steinbeck’s Pulitzer Prize-winning Great Depression epic. First published in 1939, The Grapes of Wrath follows the Joads, an Oklahoma farm family taking part in the 1930s Dust Bowl migration after being driven from their homestead and forced to seek a new start in California.
The HSL Book Group meets on the third Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the Language, Literature, and History Section. New members are always welcome. No registration necessary.
Program schedule is subject to change. Contact the library 10 days in advance to request a sign language interpreter or if special accommodations are needed.
