The Internet Echo Chamber

October 24, 2017 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

News Literacy Workshop Series logo

Social media presents a real challenge in how users decipher fact from flash when consuming news.  Join Honolulu Civil Beat, in partnership with the Hawaii State Public Library System, as they discuss the idea of information bubbles and emphasize the importance of a healthy diversity of sources.  The event will include a workshop portion where guests will learn strategies for incorporating viewpoints that challenge their own. This free 90-minute program will be held in the Meeting Room (ground floor).

Space is limited; RSVP is recommended. To register for this event, click here.

Program schedule is subject to change. Contact the library at least 10 days in advance to request a sign language interpreter or if special accommodations are needed.
