The Kailua-Kona Public Library is hosting a book character pumpkin decorating contest! Contest divisions include:

• Children’s Divisions
  • Kindergarten through 2nd Grade
  • 3rd Grade through 5th Grade
• Teen Division
  • 6th through 12th Grade

Stop by the Children’s Section and/or the Teen Section beginning Tuesday, October 1st through Saturday, October 19th to pick up a contest rules/entry form.

Entries may be dropped off at the library during library hours only from Tuesday, October 15th through Saturday, October 19th.

Public and staff voting will take place Tuesday, October 22nd through Tuesday, October 29th during library hours.

Winners will win special prizes (see contest entry form for full details), and will be notified on Wednesday, October 30th: 

• Children’s Divisions:
  • 1st place winners: $25 Kona Stories Bookstore Gift Certificate
  • 2nd place winners: F.O.L.K. Booksale Gift Certificate
• Teen Division:
  • Two top winners: Two $10 Starbucks Gift Certificates and a F.O.L.K. Booksale Gift Certificate

All entries will be available for pick-up at the library beginning Wednesday, October 30th. All entries and/or prizes must be picked up at the library by Saturday, November 2nd.
