An event every week that begins at 5:30 pm on [day], repeating until May 2, 2017
In Japan children and parents celebrate Children’s Day on May 5th. Originally, May 5th was Boy’s Day when proud parents flew fish flags above their homes to show off the number of sons within that household. Today parents continue to fly fish flags to represent sons and/or all children within the house. To celebrate this fun tradition we will be sewing fun fish bags that can be used at the beach or anywhere. This will likely require two classes to finish.
Requires basic hand sewing & sewing machine knowledge. Children must be assisted by a parent or guardian.
Appropriate for ages: 12+ Keiki to Kapuna. Class restricted to 10 participants. RSVP REQUIRED.
Program schedule is subject to change. Contact the library at least 10 days in advance to request a sign language interpreter or if special accommodations are needed.
