To commemorate the 75th Anniversary of Pearl Harbor, the Library is pleased to welcome Dorinda Makanaonalani Nicholson, author of “Pearl Harbor Child”. She will share her experience of the day that President Roosevelt referred to as “the date that will live in infamy.” On December 7, 1941, Dorinda and her family lived near the tip of Pearl City Peninsula, just a few yards from the USS Utah, the first ship that was attacked at Pearl Harbor. Attendees from the Monmouth County Public Library in Shrewsbury, New Jersey will be virtually joining the program live via Skype.
This one-hour program is suitable for all ages. Young children must be accompanied by a parent or adult caregiver.
Program schedule is subject to change. Contact the library 10 days in advance to request a sign language interpreter or if special accommodations are needed.
