Marine Biology of Coconut Island

November 16, 2016 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

marine_biologist

Ever wonder what a marine biologist does? Come find out by joining us for a presentation by Raphael Ritson-Williams,  a coral researcher at Hawaii Institute of Marine Biology on Coconut Island in Kaneohe Bay. He will share information about corals, his work, and show us some of the tools he uses in his research. We will also be making holiday ornaments and cards using seaweed!

This program is suitable for ages 5 and older. Young children must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver.

Program is funded by the Friends of the Library of Hawai’i, the Rotary Club of Windward O’ahu, and the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Foundation.

Program schedule is subject to change. Contact the library 10 days in advance to request a sign language interpreter or if special accommodations are needed.
