Film Screening of Hawaiian Soul with Director ʻĀina Paikai

Join us for a showing of the short film Hawaiian Soul and a Q&A session with the director of the film, ʻĀina Paikai.

Synopsis:

Set during the 1970s native rights movement. George Helm, a young Hawaiian activist and musician, gains the support of Maui kūpuna to protect the precious neighboring island of Kahoʻolawe from military bombing.

Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service for effective communication, or a modification of policies or procedures to participate in a program, service, or activity should contact library staff as soon as possible at 586-3470. Advance requests 48 hours or more before the event are encouraged, but not required.
