Here at Waianae Public Library that is exactly what we are hoping for, your stories. We are inviting you to join us at the library to participate in a story telling circle every Wednesday in June and July except not on July 3rd. We have invited a different guest host each week to get things started with one of their own story’s. Then we invite you to share a story with those community members who are in the circle. If you want to just listen you are welcome too!
Here is the line up for July 17 at 6:00 PM PUA’ENA BURGESS
Pua`Ena Fern (yes Fern like the frond) Burgess grew up swimming near the shore of Makua in her beloved community of Waianae. Though lacking a green thumb of her own she enjoys watching things bloom, grow and come to fruition in the places she has been blessed to live in and visit; like plumeria in Israel, mosooi in Samoa, sea cucumbers and black pearls in Tahiti, the koru of the unfurling fern leaf and harakeke or flax of Aotearoa, and tart sweet macintosh apples of Canada.
Join Pua’Ena in her storytelling circle as she shares her thoughts on travel.
Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service for effective communication, or a modification of policies or procedures to participate in a program, service, or activity should contact library staff as soon as possible. Advance requests 48 hours or more before the event are encouraged, but not required. Program schedule is subject to change.
