Malia Maunakea’s novel, Lei and the Fire Goddess, published in June 2023. Malia is a Kanaka writer of fiction that appeals to 4th-6th graders. She lives in Colorado and has also written a book titled Backpacking with Children. She will talk about the writing & publishing process and engage the audience interactively.

LIGHT SNACKS to be served courtesy of the Friends of the Hanapēpē Public Library.

This event will appeal to families with 8 to 12 yr. olds.
