The O‘ ahu Railway and Land Company (OR&L) started out in 1888 transporting freight and passengers between Honolulu and Aiea, later expanding in phases to Waianae, around Kaena Point to Mokuleia and, finally, to Kahuku. A second line later ran through central O‘ ahu, between Wahiawa and Haleiwa. It also had a war-time role serving the military.
This fascinating presentation by Jeff Livingston, historian and director of the OR & L Hawaiian Railroad Society, will bring to life the 58-year history of OR&L. Organized by Ewa Villages Historical Society.
