Learn how make hilo style lei with lā’ī.
This simple lei is made of tī leaves twisted into a rope and can include flower or fern inserts. Sunshine Permito-Kaheaku of The Lei Bar will explain how to gather and prepare material for making lā’ī lei, then participants will be able to make two or three lei. After first making a lei to learn the foundations of the technique, find out how to include inserts in your second and/or third lei.
