Share your own story of Maui with Hawai’i State Poet Laureate Brandy McDougall, as she helps participants create their own poems about Kihei. Brandy Nālani McDougall (Kanaka `Ōiwi, she / her / ’o ia) is from the ahupua’a of A’apueo in Kula, Maui and the author of a poetry collection, The Salt-Wind: Ka Makani Pa’akai (2008). She is the Hawai’i Poet Laureate for 2023-2025 and lives with her keiki in Kalaepōhaku in the ahupua’a of Waikīkī, O’ahu.
