The Kailua Historical Society Presents: The Kamikaze of Kailua

December 3, 2019 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Historical photo of a Japanese Kamikaze pilot

The Kailua Historical Society presents a program about the captivating story of Minoru Teruya, a man who grew up in the Kalaheo area and whose life led him to being reluctantly trained as a Kamikaze pilot for World War II Japanese Air Force. Upon his passing on February this year, the Kailua Historical Society is free to celebrate his story, something that could not be done during his life. His spirit of valiant courage, hard work, loyalty, and peacefulness remain alive among us.

The presentation will consist of the airing of a video documentary and lecture by the Kailua Historical Society.

All programs are subject to change. If you require an auxiliary aid or accommodation due to a disability, please contact the library at least 7 days before the program date.
