Wayfinding with Hokule’a

November 3, 2019 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Hokule'a, sailing, navigating

Join us for this fascinating presentation and discussion by Ka’iulani Murphy.  She will be discussing navigation and life on board the Hokule’a and the Malama Honua Voyage of 2013-2017.  Ka’iulani Murphy served as the lead navigator who guided the final leg of the Hokule’a’s World Wide voyage to Hawaii from Tahiti.  As part of the world voyage, she also sailed  Hokule’a on legs from Samoa to Tonga to Aotearoa, and Massachusetts to Maine.  Ka’iulani Murphy is a navigator for the Polynesian Voyaging Society and now teaches voyaging courses at Honolulu Community College.
